Dr. Asanka P. Sayakkara is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Colombo School of Computing (UCSC), Sri Lanka. He obtained his PhD in Information Security and Digital Forensics from University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, in 2020. During his doctoral studies, he was affiliated with the Forensic & Security Research (ForSec) group and the Artificial Intelligence Solutions for Cyber Security, Digital Forensics and Smart Systems (ASEADOS) laboratory at UCD.
Prior to commencing his PhD, he contributed to research activities within the Sustainable Computing Research (SCoRe) group until 2017. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Colombo School of Computing in 2013.
His research interests include Embedded Systems, Digital Forensics, Hardware Security, and Side-Channel Analysis. He is a strong advocate of the open-source movement and an active GNU/Linux user. His broader intellectual interests span science, history, fiction, politics, philosophy, and related disciplines. He also maintains an occasional blog hosted on Blogspot.
