PGRNI Pussella is a Professor in
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in the Department of Remote Sensing and
GIS, Faculty of Geoamtics, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL). He has completed his B.Sc. in Surveying
Sciences degree with a Second-Class Upper Division from SUSL; MPhil in Earth
Sciences from University of Peradeniya; and PhD in Cartography and Geographic
Information Engineering from Wuhan University, China. He has published more
than 50 research papers and abstracts in well reputed journals and conferences.
Further, he has authored 8 text books. Prof. Pussella’s research spans several
areas within GIS, Remote Sensing Cartography, Land-use and Environmental Planning,
and Disaster Management. Currently he is serving as the Head of the Department
of Remote Sensing and GIS.
